May 11, 2012 -
Kansas University men’s golf coach Kit Grove officially was
fired as the program’s head coach yesterday, ending the KU
graduate’s five-year run as the leader of the program for which
he once starred. Grove’s contract was set to expire at the end
of June. Athletic Director Sheahon Zenger, who now has
terminated two coaches (football, golf) since taking over as the
school’s athletic director in January of 2011, elected to make
the change now.

LLC has also announced that Sports Radio 810 WHB in the Kansas City market will begin airing
Midwest Golf Talk Radio
Hour, presented by
Kansas City Golf Guide,
on April 8, 2012. The show will air Sunday mornings, through
August 26, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Brian Wright, Kansas City resident and
long-time member of the Golf Writers Association of America,
will host the show as he has the past five seasons.

2012 National Junior College Athletic Association Men’s Golf
National Championship, which takes place May 15-18. The nation’s
top-ranked junior college men’s golf teams will compete in a
four-day stroke play championship at Sand Creek Station for the
2012 NJCAA title.
